REGENERATIVE TEXTILE PROTOTYPES

This set features two experimental biofibres:

  • Wet-Spun Bacterial Cellulose, naturally dyed with Brazilwood—producing a delicate, suede-like thread using microbial fermentation and plant-based pigments.
  • 3D-Printed Textile Yarn, a hybrid material composed of 90% PCL (polycaprolactone) and 10% cellulose—designed for flexible fabrication and future recyclability.

Together, these samples reflect Redress Laboratory’s commitment to developing biodegradable, low-impact alternatives to synthetic fibres. By merging material science with nature-based processes, we aim to grow textiles that regenerate ecosystems and reduce reliance on extractive industries.
